Located in Madison, Wisconsin, Ellsworth Block is a historic wedding venue. The restored building, originally constructed in 1871, offers views of the Capitol and a blank canvas for your special day. It features an abundance of natural light, which illuminates the original exposed brick and sandstone walls for an industrial aesthetic. It hosts both conventional weddings and elopements.
Facilities and Capacity
Ellsworth Block welcomes celebrations with up to 120 guests, from engagement parties to cocktail receptions. An on-site get-ready room offers you and your party an exclusive setting to prepare for the day ahead. The Maeder Room is the primary event space, although there is also the Atrium and Skydeck. These areas are offered as ideal settings for an elegant pre-dinner drinks reception. Your loved ones can mingle while they enjoy the views of the city around them.
Services Offered
Sitting on the Capitol Square, Ellsworth Block is available for weddings on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. They have partnered with a local restaurant, HARVEST, for bar service and catering. This business specializes in seasonal dishes and menus. You are, however, free to work with whatever companies you wish. Linens, chairs, and tables are all supplied by the property, alongside clean-up services. A sweeping staircase provides the perfect setting for a dramatic entrance to your celebration or a classic backdrop to wedding portraits. You are free to decorate the space however you see fit, from elegant floral installations to chic cool-toned linens. Its central location also makes it ideal for finding a convenient hotel for those guests visiting from out of town.
Location
This wedding venue is situated in downtown Madison. Dane County Regional Airport is just 15 minutes away by car, so visitors to the state have a short trip to look forward to. Various hotels are within walking distance of the venue, as well as museums and coffee shops. The venue looks onto the Wisconsin State Capitol, which offers a grand backdrop for your wedding celebrations.
