Gruene Estate is a farm in the San Antonio, Texas area with 15 sprawling acres for a couple’s wedding. This property’s historic inn and other vintage buildings serve as picturesque locations for photographs and memories, especially with the colorful glow of the many stained glass windows. Couples will find this radiant property in New Braunfels, Texas, a 45-minute drive from downtown San Antonio.
Facilities and Capacity Up to 250 guests can join couples for their wedding at Gruene Estate. This farm combines nature with antiquity for the perfect rustic vintage event. Couples can exchange vows in the quaint and unassuming chapel. From the front, the chapel looks like any antique building with stained glass windows and a bell tower, however, upon entering guests will discover that the chapel has no walls save for the front facade of the structure. This open-air building ensures couples and guests don't overheat during the ceremony, which takes place in front of three tall stained glass windows with no walls between them. After the light and airy ceremony, couples and guests can head to the open-air pavilion for the reception celebration. The pavilion is long and rustic, with a bar and plenty of space for dining and dancing the night away.

Accommodation This facility sleeps up to 12 overnight guests thanks to two separate structures on the property. The original Gruene Family Farmhouse and the Cottage Studio both welcome couples and overnight guests after a night of wedding festivities.
History The history of the site dates back to 1856, when Ernest Gruene first purchased the wooden structure on a half-acre of property. Gruene had come to America after growing up in Germany and marrying Antoinette Kloepper, seeking a better life and his own freedom. Ernest first built the Welsh Barn, where his family lived until the completion of the modest farmhouse. The property and family increased, and the current owners of the Gruene Estate aim to keep it true to its roots and heritage.
My husband and I were totally in love with our special day at Gruene Estate. We had so many guests comment on how much they loved the space and how beautiful it was. Our wedding coordinator Courtney, from Gruene Estate was so organized and helped our day flow seamlessly. From the charming chapel to the adorable animals this place was picture perfect and had plenty of room for our 200 guests! Thank you so much Gruene Estates for helping us create the wedding of our dreams!
