  • I hired Tim to photograph my wedding in Yosemite. I paid him a $2,500.00 deposit, with $2,500.00 owed after the wedding. Yosemite cancelled my wedding due to COVID-19. After initially promising to refund my deposit, Tim hired a lawyer instead and refused to give my money back. Then he threatened to sue me in an e-mail for the remaining $2,500.00

    responded with the following comments.

Ouch, that one hurts. I try not to be a terrible human being, but I can understand in this case why Anthony would want to write that. :-( Let me start out by saying, I accept his 1 star review - this all did not work out well for either of us, and I can understand why he is unhappy. That said, it's probably wise to write some sort of response to help frame things. This was definitely an unfortunate event, and I worked hard to try and accommodate Anthony and his bride, but he was unwilling to work out a comprise that did not put me into a bad position. Anthony's wedding was not cancelled, but rather his reception location cancelled his reception. He could still have had his wedding in the park, but he would have needed to consider an alternate option for his reception. Instead, Anthony chose to reschedule his wedding to a future date in New Jersey that I was unavailable for. Per his contract, not only was his date reservation fee not refundable, but his final payment is still due. I then offered to waive the final payment as I feel bad for their situation, but was frustrated by his rescheduling without consulting me on how that would work from my end. He demanded that not only I fly to New Jersey on my own dime, BUT he also demanded that I NOT be paid the final amount due, AND he demanded I refund part of his original payment made to me. He then attempted to extort me for money, and that is when I asked a lawyer to correspond with Anthony as I am not comfortable with extortion. I tried to find an amicable solution for Anthony, but unfortunately he continually made it clear that he is a lawyer and that he can sue me and that I should be afraid of him. Rightfully so, I am afraid of him. Again, this is a truly unfortunate event and I accept this 1 star. Hopefully the numerous other reviews might speak better to how your experience working with me might actually play out. Anyone who wants to work with me but is curious to understand more what happened here and how the contract is written for these types of events, I would be happy to go over that in detail. Anthony, my most sincere apologies for your experience and that we couldn't come to an amicable solution.
