About Us

Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center is a unique wedding venue located out of Burlington, Vermont. This brand new space was recently finished in 2018, and is welcoming events of all types and sizes. Contact them today to see what dates are available.

Facilities and Capacity

Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center can comfortably host 160 guests standing or 120 guests sitting. The Merrill Family Terrace, located on the third floor of the space is a covered deck with Brazilian Ipe hardwood floors. The waterfront view is the perfect backdrop to all your photos and is sure to wow your guests. This provides shelter from the elements while giving you the best of both, an indoor and outdoor setting. There are two stairwells and an elevator on-site making it completely accessible for you and your guests. Availability can range anytime between May 1st and October 15th. The space can host ceremonies, receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties, and rehearsal dinners.

Services Offered

With the rental of the space you’ll have access to a variety of on-site amenities to make your big day run smoothly from start to finish. Lighting is dimmable to ensure your atmosphere can be set to your standards and complete the setting of your event. Additionally, a mobile 75” HD monitor with HDMI hookups is available for slideshows or videos to display during the event. Microphones, speakers, and WiFi give you all the makings for the MC services for the duration of the event. Lastly, 18 tables and 40 chairs come included with the rental. Any additional rentals need to go through Vermont Tent Company. There is convenient on-site parking to make arrival and departure for you and your guests as easy as possible.

History

The Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center was founded in 1994 as a way to encourage the community to interact with the lake and each other. This is because it is believed that sailing and paddling are tools that enrich the lives of the people that use them by offering unique lessons and education each time an individual uses them.

  • Few know about this Burlington gem because the building is so new. We were actually the first couple to get married here and we are still thanking our lucky stars we stumbled across it. The Sailing Center is the PERFECT place to have a wedding. The conveniently covered third floor deck protects you from the elements while overlooking gorgeous Lake Champlain and let me tell you, that evening was nothing short of magical :) Warm summer night, a lake breeze... We also had access to their waterfront promenade and dock for the most romantic sunset pictures! The venue deck is very spacious, we comfortably hosted around 80 people and were able to have both the ceremony AND dinner reception all in the same space! See attached pictures ;) It could easily have hosted more people.
