  • It took me almost a month to be able to write a review about Love and Light Officiants. My wife and I wed on July 26th 2020 with Reverend Rachel as our officiant. To our surprise and in my honest opinion, her services were nothing like the 20 plus page description packet she sent out. She did not give clear instructions and gaslighted us while being held accountable. More tellingly, she announced my wife and I, two women, as Mr. and Mrs. Our parents, friends and family members were shocked and visibly upset. Days later my wife sent Rachel an email calling her attention to what I already communicated on night of July 26th. In my honest opinion, her apology was not genuine based on the way she gaslighted me during and after our wedding by referring to her contract. I can understand a mistake, but its unethical and unprofessional to not respond genuinely when you have made a detrimental mistake. responded with the following comments.

Dear Dawanna and Aja,  From the moment we met I had a special place in my heart for both of you and deep admiration for the community service you do. I am so very sorry that I announced you incorrectly. As I stated in my sent emails and texts, it was correct on the paper but that is not what came out of my mouth. ..I have listed our responses below with the date each was sent... Wishing you both all of life’s blessings.. August 2, 2020 Dear Aja,I just received your email. I am very sorry that you did not receive my text messages Monday morning. I am also sorry that I introduced you incorrectly. It is a big moment. It is a moment that we prepared for. I made a mistake and I’m very sorry about that. As you can see from these two text messages from last Monday morning I did respond. After I read Dawanna’s text early Monday morning I was shocked. I immediately called my videographer and he confirmed the mistake on the audio. Again I’m very sorry.  Monday July 27, 2020 Dear Dawanna and Aja,I am so very sorry to hear this however I appreciate you letting me know. From the first moment we spoke I had a special place in my heart for both of you. I am deeply saddened to hear this. Unfortunately, after reviewing the audio, you are correct. I have Mrs. and Mrs. in the script, but that’s not what came out of my mouth. I am terribly sorry.  Saturday July 25, 2020 at 11:37am Good afternoon Dawanna and Aja!I hope you are enjoying this very special time with each other, preparing for your wedding day tomorrow. It is an honor and a privilege to be your officiant. Thank you! Much love, Rev. Rachel Response from Aja Johnson: Rachel thank you so much for all you've done thus far for us! we are two people that believe in God's divine connections and he definitely pointed us in the right direction when choosing our Officiant! It wasn't just your professionalism that allowed us to choose but your sweet spirit and love for seeing the joy of others in love that let us know you were the one.
