About Us

McGuire’s Millrace Farm is a family owned and operated wedding venue in the beautiful town of Murphy, North Carolina. They are a premiere Southern wedding destination settled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. The property is more than 100 acres and is full of history with pre-civil war and pre-depression structures. Looking for a place with refined southern charm and rustic elegance? Facilities and Capacity
The Barn venue is more than 8,000 square feet of space that is framed with locally resourced timber. The tongue and groove ceilings are 30 feet high and feature 30 wrought iron chandeliers, hung with over 2,000 crystals in the barn for a bit of subtle elegance. The Barn has polished concrete floors, floor to ceiling stone fireplace, two-piece bar with granite countertops and gold plated sink, a certified commercial kitchen, a lit handicap accessible parking lot, a 40' x 15' dance floor with lighting and dressing rooms. The Barn is fully heated and air conditioned and is equipped with AV equipment. The grounds feature an arched foot bridge over a peaceful pond, flower gardens, romantic birch garden, a solid wood arbor and stunning mountain views. Ceremonies and receptions can be hosted inside the Barn or at any of the outdoor spaces. McGuire’s Millrace Farm can accommodate up to 225 guests at the most popular sites and locations around the farm.


Services Offered
The farm can host many of the festivities centered around a wedding; an engagement party, bridal party, elopement, rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception. The experienced event planners work with you intimately and professionally to plan an exquisite wedding. The planners and coordinators know how to plan flawless weddings and make your vision a reality. They offer in-house bar and catering, set up and clean up, event rentals, lighting and sound, cake, event planning and more! Some of the available items include aisle markers, altars and arches, centerpieces, whisky barrels, chairs, decor, tents, tables, lawn games, firepit, stringed lights and more!

Cuisine
McGuire’s Millrace Farm offers in-house catering and bar services. The expierenced chef works with you to create custom menus for your wedding events. They use fresh ingredients and bold flavors for dishes that will wow you and your guests. They accommodate different dietary needs including gluten free, vegetarian, lactose free and more.   • From the time I started working with Natalie I knew our wedding would be magical. We had so many questions and she was very patient with us. I'm not the most creative person so she would talk through things with me and we would come up with beautiful, personal, creative solutions. I have celiac and she worked with me to find the perfect gluten free menu that everyone would love. She also did a last minute accommodation for having our rehearsal dinner at the venue when it was threatening to rain and our original plan couldn't happen. Speaking of rain, our original plan was to have our ceremony in the birch tree garden and reception inside. Mother Nature did not agree. Natalie was cool, calm, and collected and smoothly made the transition to an inside ceremony, while keeping me and my husband calm, while also continually communicating with us, while updating our vendors AND our wedding party!
