This boutique hotel features nautical and contemporary decor, creating a warm atmosphere surrounded by rich history. Situated on the quaint Pickering Wharf, the property allows couples to host a picturesque, waterfront wedding in a renowned setting.

Facilities and Capacity

Couples celebrating their special occasion at Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites are invited to share their day with up to 220 guests. The elegant venue offers indoor and outdoor sites for ceremonies and receptions. For those who’d like to exchange vows by the sea, you are welcome to say “I do” in the ocean air under a grand arch adjacent to Salem Harbor. Another outdoor option, you can also tie the knot on the Ceremony Green situated on the historic Pickering Wharf. Here, your loved ones can enjoy the event from white garden chairs. The venue’s spacious Maritime Ballroom offers an indoor site for dining and dancing beneath crystal chandeliers. The bright space and large dance floor create a warm ambience for a lively reception. For smaller gatherings, newlyweds and their guests can also celebrate with a shared meal and sparkling champagne in the Compass Room. After the reception winds to a close, couples and their loved ones can relax in the hotel’s waterside guest rooms.

  • To start off, when I signed the contract everything was going smoothly. Covid was on the rise and restrictions got tighter, however I was never told a limit of people until after I send out invitations and gave my final count! Then I was told all the vendors and servers counted as my guest count. The hotel rep & manager were helpful however very frustrating. During the wedding my children became tired and cranky (as kids do) abd my family was repeatedly told (rudly) they had to sit down and couldn't 'dance' when they were attempting to calm down my twin infants, by rocking them in their arms. The decor was great and the food was fantastic, the servers were also very attentive. The wedding coordinator did her best but like I said the situation was very aggravating especially with traveling across the country. We more than anyone know how important your celebration and experience means and share with you the frustration of the ever changing restrictions mandated throughout the pandemic and throughout the planning process of your wedding. We communicated and relayed the occupancy guidelines in detail to you as swiftly and clearly as possible and again once you asked to increase your guest list beyond what the state was allowing. We also gave you the option to cancel your wedding with a full refund due to the restrictions and were so happy to be able to come to an understanding and provide what we thought and what you expressed to us, was a beautiful and enjoyable wedding. We did our absolute best to accommodate you and your guests respectfully while abiding by all guidelines including the decreased occupancy limits and dance floor restrictions in order to keep everyone safe during your wedding which was our biggest priority. We did provide discounts off your venue fee, a discount on your wedding package and a considerable amount of complimentary Halloween décor for your Halloween Themed Wedding here in Salem to make it as special as possible for you. We also provided a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite for your 2-night stay to give you added comfort after traveling across the country. We’re so happy to hear you found the décor, food and service exceptional and appreciate your feedback.
