Sperry Tents are handcrafted by New England sailmakers and convey an elegance and romance that cannot be duplicated. We offer a range of tent sizes, creative lighting, and flooring for weddings and events of all sizes.

Our authentic sailcloth tents combine discernible craftsmanship with modern technologies for a refined event experience. Signature pennant flags and mast-worthy spruce poles create an elegant ambiance with a uniquely nautical feel. Accomplished sailmaker Steve Sperry founded Sperry Tents in response to the classic American inspiration: necessity. To accommodate an expanding guest list for a family function, Steve first created a tent from sailcloth in the late 1970s. The whimsical project grew into a serious business with the collaboration of Steve's sons, Tim and Matt, providing labor as they learned the family trade. Today, Sperry Tents are still made with the traditions and knowledge of hundreds of years of American sailmakers.

  • They are extremely overpriced. Look up what it costs to purchase a comparable tent- they are ripping you off for a rental. There are rental companies with comparable tents for far less. The tent with no bells-and-whistles costed way more than our entire venue rental. To get a floor put it, that would cost more than the tent rental alone. It didn’t even make sense. Just do your research. Our wedding was cancelled due to COVID and that’s when we really struggled with Sperry. They initially did not want to refund our several thousand dollar deposit. After we argued with them for a while, and brought a lawyer into the picture, they agreed on a partial refund. We settled on that because we had enough stress of cancelling a wedding and working through COVID. In the end, they still kept a large sum of our money and provided no service in return.     Client service is at the core of our company, so your feedback is very much appreciated. We would love to offer a bit more context into our refund policy to clear up any confusion. Per our contract, all tent deposits represent a commitment on both our side and the client's, and our cancellation policy was outlined both within our contract and via email from your sales representative. Our sales staff exhausted all avenues for downsizing the event, postponing the date, as well as holding the deposit for a "to be determined" date within the next 18 months. Our warehouse puts in significant time and effort to prepare each tent and arrange adequate staff for each event, even in situations of cancellations. COVID has certainly put pressure on the entire event industry as we all try and continue to deliver exceptional service while staying true to our business needs.
