About Us

An enchanted retreat set at the gateway to the Hudson Highlands in Peekskill, New York, The Abbey Inn & Spa is nestled on a hillside overlooking the Hudson River. The boutique hotel welcomes with distinctive guest rooms and suites, stunning meeting and event settings, serene gardens, a tranquil spa and fitness center, as well as Apropos—a farm-to-table, Mediterranean-inspired dining destination that celebrates the bounty of the Hudson Valley -- just one hour from Grand Central Terminal and 3 minutes from the Peekskill Metro North Station.

As the Lower Hudson Valleys newest and most unique catering venue, The Abbey Inn offers a diverse selection of spectacular spaces for milestone events, intimate family celebrations & enchanted wedding to remember. Enjoy a beautiful seasonal event with or without a tent on the Grand Terrace as a separate function or in conjunction with adjacent Highlands Ballroom. Options include a wedding ceremony within the ballroom, followed by a cocktail reception on The Grand Terrace returning to the ballroom for an elegant feast and dancing.

The Highlands Ballroom, located in the former church, is The Abbey Inn's premier event space offering undeniable "wow factor." At over 2,000 square feet with cathedral ceilings, this soaring space can be customized for a wide range of gatherings from a spectacular wedding to a business conference with full A/V capabilities.

The Cornerstone Room at The Abbey Inn, located in the former convent, is the perfect venue for smaller events or a more intimate wedding. This beautiful 742 square-foot room, adorned with historic hand painted ecclesiastical wall coverings and stained-glass windows, complimented with contemporary lighting, creates a one-of-a-kind memorable space. This unique room is located in the hotel building within the former convent chapel and features a double height cathedral ceiling.

Key to The Abbey Inn & Spa’s uniqueness is its location on historic Fort Hill, site of an American outpost during the Revolutionary War, as well as its setting within the former convent of the Episcopal Sisters of Saint Mary’s, built at the turn of the century.
