I got my wedding dress here, and I got a beautiful gown. I was pleased with the staff who helped me select my dress and how professional they were. They also gave me some recommendations on accessories that make my dress that much more beautiful. In addition, I was impressed with how they handled re-scheduling appointments that had to be cancelled during the stay at home order in Michigan. The staff worked extra hours and put in a lot of overtime hours to get things done.
The only thing I am disappointed in is that when I inquired about the cost of alterations when I purchased my gown, the staff told me to allot approximately 1/3 of the cost of my dress for alterations. Based on consulting with other brides and doing my research, that estimate seemed typical and fair. However, I had to pay significantly more than than what I was told. I understand that small businesses have been hit hard due to being closed for 3 months during the stay at home order in Michigan. Therefore, I expecte... Read mored the prices to increase slightly. However, I wasn't prepared to pay as much as I did. I think the staff needs to be honest with their brides on the cost of alterations up front, especially since you have to book your alterations with them when you buy your dress to ensure availability. It's only fair to the brides, especially those who have been hit hard this wedding season with many extra expenses because of COVID-19.

Hello Paula,
Thank you for voicing your concerns. Alterations pricing differs for each wedding dress based on the amount of work that needs to be put into altering a particular dress to be a perfect fit for the bride. This is dependent upon what alterations need to be done, the intricacies of a particular style, and how the dress fits your body. As you know from your fitting, most of the work that needed to be done on your particular dress was in the hem, which was especially time consuming, labor intensive and intricate, and therefore was more costly due to the number of hours our seamstresses needed to spend on your dress.
During each alterations appointment, we go through all of the work that needs to be done and explain the pricing to the bride, and the bride agrees to, and signs for, the price before any work is completed. If, for any reason, if the bride is unhappy with the price of our alterations or does not agree with the work that we suggest having done, the bride is always free to take her dress home and not do alterations through us. Being that you had two alterations appointments with us, we are surprised to hear that you are unhappy with our pricing, as you did not voice this to our seamstress during either appointment. We always welcome questions and concerns and would much rather talk things through with our clients than find out after the fact that our client was unhappy. If you have any future appointments with us, we would love if you would talk with us directly so that we can come to a mutual understanding and agreement – we always want our clients to leave happy!
Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns through this review. Good luck with your wedding!
