The Historic Post Office is an iconic wedding venue located in Hampton, Virginia. Opening its doors as an event venue in 2017, this renovated building served as a post office for many years. Now upgraded with an array of modern comforts, this famed venue retains its nostalgic appeal, creating the ideal backdrop for a timeless wedding. Boasting a seasoned staff and a premier Downtown location, this evocative landmark is sure to set the scene for a truly distinctive celebration.

Facilities and Capacity

Comfortably able to accommodate 250 seated guests and up to 400 standing attendees, this venue has a variety of facilities designed for your comfort. Its two-stories of roomy event space features a lacquered wooden floor and chic lighting, providing the perfect setting for an unforgettable reception. This space is entirely flexible, allowing you and your partner to customize it according to your vision. Its naturally inviting atmosphere is reminiscent of bygone times, and its quaint staircase and pillars are sure to charm your loved ones. You will have access to the entire property, with facilities including a full-service warming kitchen, Wi-Fi, restrooms, and two dressing suites.

Services Offered

The Historic Post Office has a selection of services to be selected on an á la carte basis. Building access begins at 9 am and includes a five hour event time. Their affable staff is eager to answer any queries that may arise, and can be on-hand to assist you on the day itself. You will be provided with a complimentary security guard and gated parking, ensuring your celebration occurs without a hitch. Tables, chairs, and wooden bars are included in the venue rental. Additional items such as farm tables, lighting, linens, and drapery are also available. The Historic Post Office team offers optional Day of Coordination, specific services include:

  • Development of your timeline & layout
  • Setup and cleanup of the tables and chairs
  • Liaising between vendors
  • Rehearsal coordination
  • Three to four meetings
