The Historic Post Office is a historic wedding venue located in Ottawa, Kansas with easy access to nearby cities like Kansas City, Olathe, and Lawrence.
Built in 1913, the Historic Post Office has been meticulously and lovingly restored for those who believe that the grander the location, the grander the love story. While many of the original architectural features can still be found throughout, Historic Post Office now features state-of-the-art amenities for couples and guests.
Our 4,000 square foot Ballroom that seats up to 200 guests reception style, or 300 guests in a cocktail setting. When you rent the entire venue, it includes use of the Ballroom, both of our Getting Ready Suites, the outdoor private Lawn, and the downstairs Speakeasy 1930's themed Bar and Lounge.
The Historic Post Office features a stunning limestone facade, towering ceilings, an elegant skylight, and stunning windows. We have kept The Vault, a perfect place to safeguard your memories, and have an old-world speakeasy in the basement for those seeking a swanky after-hours experience. Complete with expansive dressing rooms and hidden elements such as a cast-iron staircase, the Historic Post Office has managed to keep its original classic, timeless architecture in place while adding modern, fashionable touches.
When you decide to host your event at the Historic Post Office, you have the option to rent the venue with one of our all-inclusive packages, or simply a la carte and procure vendors yourself. For smaller groups and events with less than 70 guests, you have the option of renting the Speakeasy Bar and Lounge by the hour.
We offer plentiful, convenient free parking right across the street for your guests, as well as contacts for transportation companies and lodging if you so wish.

Every email and phone call were answered in a timely manner (no more than a day). Every dream we had for the day was met with enthusiasm and excitement. Every single guest loved the look and style of the venue and realized exactly why we chose Ottawa to hold our special day. TJ went above and beyond and I never questioned if he would come through with something.
