About Us




The Main Street Event Center is a perfect location for your special event, party, wedding, reception, meeting, or gathering from 10 people to 350.  Our large facility of over 6200 square feet with classic charm and character is in the heart of historic downtown Norman. 


The Main Street Event Center is an excellent choice for a wide variety of events including weddings, wedding receptions, wedding rehearsals, catered dinners, corporate events, birthday parties, banquets, reunions, fraternity & sorority parties, dance parties, family gatherings, bands, school dances, holiday parties, trade fairs, photography & art exhibits, film showings, dramatic productions, teen parties, quinceaneras, children's parties, family gatherings, and much more! 


We are a unique facility that is locally operated and we pledge to work closely with you to help make your event a success.  We have selected experienced food caterers for our facility.  Unlike many other venues who require you to purchase their food at inflated and expensive rates, we will also allow you to bring in your own outside caterer to provide your food for a nominal charge for private events.  We are open to a wide variety of events of all types, we allow smoking on the property outside on the patio, plus we have a private bridal dressing room for the bride and a private groom's preparation room for weddings performed at the venue.  Bands and DJs have a huge raised 12 x 24 foot stage with a permanently installed professional sound system and high end 12 channel mixer. Bands performing at the venue can also have access to a private bathroom for extended gigs.  We also have an in-house DJ service with experience providing music to hundreds of weddings and receptions.


Our facility is roomy compared to many other similar venues with plenty of space for your event.  There is no need to squeeze your guests into a small crowded space with no room for socializing or dancing which is often the case at other locations.  You'll enjoy a spacious open feeling with high ceilings throughout the facility. We have a full service bar with beer, wine, and cocktails.  At The Main Street Event Center there are no other events next door with sound resonating into your space which occurs with impersonal hotel banquet rooms utilizing temporary walls and thin partitions.   


Described by the latest urban designers as "Industrial Chic," our decor utilizes a neutral palette so that you can personalize and customize your setting according to your vision!


We have assembled a database of recommended professional caterers, photographers, videographers, photobooth providers, casino night companies, bakers, confectioners, and cake preparers who are familiar with the facility.  Sharing this information with you, through our staff, will save you time and 

help take the worry out of coordinating your event and insure that your guests have an enjoyable experience!

  • Very roomy facility. Great location and venue is flexible in their policies. Large stage and in house DJ service made entertaining at reception easy. Like the fact that outside catering is allowed. Friendly staff.
