I recently had my daughters wedding at the Somerley. The wedding as a whole was very good. When you know what you are supposed to get from your caterer and they fall short, there is some disappointment. There are a number of things I won't discuss but understand that the maitre'd can have a tighter handle on things. Let's start with the cocktail hour. The food was ok. Some was good, but some was truly not. I would definitely stay away from the Asian table. Everything except the egg rolls were so salty I couldn't eat it. Other stations were good. The ice sculpture which was supposed to be rotating in the center of the big round station was not there. It was stuck in a corner. I know of only one person that saw it. The ice sculpture actually was tied in to the day the bride and groom became engaged. The bartenders were generally rude. A 60 year old man went up to the bar and asked for a bourbon neat.
