The Texan is a wedding venue located in Athens, Texas. This old movie theatre has been refurbished to host modern celebrations while maintaining some of it’s original architectural structure. What once provided entertainment for those in the 1950s can now play host to 21st-century celebrations as two families become one.

This building boasts up to 5,00 square feet of space with an additional 1,200 square foot mezzanine. This expansive area can be configured in a variety of ways to host intimate and extravagant ceremonies, banquets, and receptions. The main hall includes 100-year-old stone walls, high ceilings, and a floor-to-ceiling glass window that allows natural light to flow throughout the venue. A second-floor mezzanine can also be used for additional seating or dramatic entrances. Depending on the layout of your event, this property can accommodate between 186-411 guests.

Services Offered

Upon booking your special event at The Texan, their helpful staff will assist in the set up of all rental items and decor. The site’s rental package includes 20 round, 15 rectangle, and 13 cocktail tables, 350 banquets chairs, three mobile bars, and a high-quality projection screen. For further convenience, the building’s staff can clean up at the end of your event. You are welcome to work with outside vendors to transform this venue into the wedding setting you’ve always envisioned.
