About Us

Through the Denver, Colorado based Wedlock Officiants, Scot officiates weddings across Denver, Breckenridge, Vail, Estes Park and deep into the Rocky Mountains. (COVID-19 Questions? See my website) He wants to ask, what good is finding the perfect location, inviting closest friends and family and getting dressed up if the ceremony is going to be awkward, boring and forgettable? That’s because to him, the most important thing a ceremony can do is help get a couple lost in the moment and in doing that forever answering the unsaid lingering question in guests minds, "Did they make the right choice?”

Scot’s background is in project management and software engineering, but it was with helping his wife on weekends to grow her flower shop that he would watch wedding vendors apply their craft. And while he was impressed with most of the vendors he watched, he was unimpressed with the quality and professionalism of the officiants. Putting his money where his mouth is, he started officiating part-time and absolutely loved it. It wasn’t too long after that when he retired from project management to be a full-time wedding officiant and hasn’t looked back.

Services Offered

Scot rejects the notion that officiating is just speaking words, that a ceremony is just a formality or that it's alright for an officiant to project their views onto a wedding. In his relentless pursuit to be the best officiant he can be, he offers non-religious, christian and interfaith ceremonies that are engaging, reflect the couple and their views, and keeps the focus of the ceremony on the two of them, not himself. Only once a couple has gazed deeply into each other’s eyes and made their promises while lost in the moment does he believe that a job is done well. Reach out and not only will Scot help you determine if he is a good fit, he’ll also share his guide on “How to Choose a Wedding Officiant” to help you in your search.

  • Scot was super professional and we felt comfortable with him right away. He gave us pointers and listened to what we wanted our ceremony to be and made it happen. Everything went great! And since Tom is in the Air Force, Scot gave us a military discount that we really appreciated.

    responded with the following comments.

In my previous life, my work would routinely take me to military bases all around the country. And the one thing that stuck out to me was how hard that life is. Now I'm not just talking about serving, but just everyday life. Not only are those in the military subject to the whims of being sent anywhere at anytime, but 99% of the places they could be sent aren't exactly vacation spots. In fact, they are typically harsh, out of the way places where no one wanted to live, so they put in a military base. I honor everyone who chooses a life of service, particularly those who have to undergo hardship to serve.
