  • Our first meeting was great - she let us pick what parts we liked in the ceremony and customized it to us. It wasn't until 30 days before the wedding that I realized I absolutely regretted choosing her as our officiant. When I asked her if she would be able to make it to our rehearsal dinner, she claimed I told her there was no rehearsal. In her responses, she was very unprofessional and accusing that it was my fault that she made other plans; she was not willing to accommodate to the plans and therefore did not rehearse before the wedding. We had not run through the ceremony and that added so much stress. After the ceremony she was in such a rush to get out of there that she insisted the witnesses had to sign right away, which really held up the pictures and the timeline. I did not even see her after the ceremony which gave me the impression that she just wanted to get paid and get out. As the bride, I never felt like she put us or our wedding day as a priority. Just to clarify, when we first met the bride indicated there would be NO rehearsal and I told her the fee was based on that. When she decided to have a rehearsal with only a short notice, I told her I had made other plans and while I would have been happy to be there, I wouldn't be able to make it at the time she requested due to the distance I had to travel to get there during rush hour. I told her if I did make it to the rehearsal I would not charge her any additional amount, even though I had every right to do that. I have every email correspondence and can't find where I was "unprofessional". As far as the signing and leaving right away...that is what I normally do and have had no other complaints. I don't stay for the receptions so I prefer that the signing of the license be done so that I can get out of the way. I mailed the marriage license the following day, so am not sure why she claimed I waited until the last day to send it. I am very sorry that she was so unhappy with my services...she never indicated that to me in any way before, during or after the ceremony. She said she was fine with running through the ceremony herself and had a co-officiant (friend of hers that read part of the ceremony) helping also, so I am very confused why she is so upset. I thought she had a beautiful wedding and her guests afterward told me it was lovely. I didn't see her afterwards because the wedding party went to have pictures taken.
