Owl and Olive has a variety of amenities that Clients can choose from. Access and usability varies by location, season and weather conditions. Make sure to consider the time of year when picking ceremony or activity locations. On event days, we can be as flexible as you wish to be. On a moments notice we have chased more than one rain cloud away and moved a wedding ceremony from the barn outside into the newly arrived sunshine!

Historic Gambrel Barn

The heart of Owl and Olive is our Historic Gambrel Barn. Built in 1936, the barn provides a beautiful and unique setting to celebrate your special day. Capacity is 175 seated at table, with two entrances/exits providing for the easy flow of guests throughout your event.

Owl and Olive Cafe

Opening in 2021 the Owl and Olive Café is our home-base for hospitality, great food and drink. Intimate and inviting, wrapped in cedar with warm lighting, you may want to settle in for the long hall. Think simple thin crust Roman style pizza, panini, bruschetta, and an assortment of Mediterranean olives, cheeses and charcuterie. You get the idea. Now add the perfect selection of draft and bottled beer, NW and Mediterranean wines, coffee, tea, and an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages and you will not leave hungry (or thirsty). Oh, and you may want to try the warm spiced olives or polenta fries with aioli sauce – they are not to be missed! And don’t forget the Italian Sausage Mac and Cheese, and the…

Café Patio

Located adjacent to the Café, the north patio provides outside space protected from the elements. In the coming years the climbing hydrangeas planted along the perimeter fence will provide privacy and color.

Courtyard and Fire Circle

Installed and landscaped in early spring 2020, the courtyard and fire circle provide a wonderful gathering space for events big and small. An outside “room” surrounded by 18 Hornbeams provides a unique space for intimate ceremonies or casual farm table dinners. End of night s’mores in the fire circle adds that extra touch to end a special day.

Flower Stand

Coming in summer 2021, Owl and Olive’s Flower Stand will provide seasonal cut flowers to event customers and the public throughout the summer and early fall. The flower stand promises to brighten many a day.

Dahlia Garden

Owl and Olive’s Dahlia Garden provides a beautiful array of color just east of the café. Our plan is to have a small open space at the center of the garden for small gatherings, ceremonies or pictures. If one dahlia makes you smile, think what hundreds will do for your mood!

Maple Grove Ceremony Site

The Maple Grove Ceremony Site is located under old growth maple trees and is wrapped in a semi-circle of vine maples. Seating can be arranged in a variety of configurations depending on weather and number of guests. This site is usable year-round.

Riverside Ceremony Site

The Riverside Ceremony Site is located right on the banks of the Chehalis River. This intimate space works well for any size ceremony. This site is not generally usable in the winter or when their is – or has been – heavy wet weather.

Pasture and Woodland Settings

Depending on the time of year, one or more pastures may be available to provide outside areas for a variety of activities. Pasture, forest, river and hillside scenery provides the perfect backdrop for rustic and natural photographs.

  • We tried to get our wedding rescheduled for the same weekend the following year after seeing the writing on the wall with Covid19, we were not going to be able to have the wedding we wanted and were under contract for for July 2020. They say they will work with you, we asked if they had anyone slotted our weekend in 2021 and they said no. We go to schedule it and they wanted to charge us an additional $2,000 or we can reschedule outside of the normal “wedding season” at no additional cost. We could not have our date the following year because it was going to “cost them money,” even though they could not provide us the wedding we were contracted for this year. We tried to get a refund, at least partial, but they said no. They stated the money was non-refundable per our contract, but there is a section in the contract that gives the venue an out for “an act of god,” which Covid 19 is. We did schedule the venue at a reduced price because they needed the money to f... Read more

Anthony we are sorry that you are so frustrated and angry with us. Please know that our offer to reschedule for a Sunday - Friday in July 2021 at no additional cost still stands, should you change your mind. This includes the Sunday of the weekend in July that you requested. In addition, we have offered you Saturday dates in the spring or fall at no additional cost that you have also declined. Our entire year of business has collapsed and we are working hard to reschedule this year’s reservations in a way that will allow us to still be here next year for ALL of our clients. I am sorry that this appears to you that we are heartless, greedy, or terrible people - in fact these are difficult decisions for us. We are doing our best to have a clear and fair policy for all of our clients - not the ones to cancel first, who we like more or less, who threaten us the most, or who write the worst review. As you are aware, the contract your fiancé signed is very clear that all deposits and payments are nonrefundable. We are working hard to ensure prospective clients understand their contract and our policies prior to signing. If anyone reading this has questions about how we are responding to this year’s reservations or the impact on future reservations in light of COVID-19 please reach out, we are happy to talk with you.
